FAQ
Questions we get on every first call.
If yours isn’t here, ask it on the assessment. The answer doesn’t change whether you hire us or not.
How much does an MSP cost?
Pricing depends on the size of your team, the systems you need covered, and how much cleanup is required. We give you a clear monthly service quote after the free assessment, before you sign anything.
Project work, hardware, and software licenses are quoted separately so you know what is included in ongoing service and what is a one-time cost.
What’s included in the monthly service plan?
Helpdesk for your team, monitoring of your servers and network, endpoint security, email security, regular backups, vendor management (we deal with your ISP, your printer leasing company, etc.), and business planning support. Software licenses, hardware, and major projects are billed separately so you know exactly what is part of ongoing service.
We have an in-house IT person. Do we still need an MSP?
Sometimes the answer is no. If your in-house person handles your scale, has time for security and patching, and can take a vacation without things breaking, you don’t need us.
The two patterns where we add value: (1) co-managed — your IT person handles user-facing work, we handle the infrastructure, security, and 24/7 coverage; and (2) someone leaves and you don’t want to hire a replacement immediately.
How do we switch from our current IT provider?
The transition is on us. We collect what we need from the outgoing provider (account credentials, documentation, equipment lists), deploy our tools, document the environment, and take over support with as little disruption as possible. We’ve done this enough times to know where the landmines are.
What hours are you available?
Helpdesk runs during business hours. After-hours emergencies, like a server outage, active security incident, or company-wide email issue, are handled through priority coverage for managed clients.
What if we want to leave?
We make offboarding clean. We’ll hand over every account, every password, every piece of documentation, and any equipment you paid for. We don’t hold data or domains hostage.
Can you help if we get hit by ransomware?
If you’re an existing client, yes — that’s in scope, and we have the playbook. If you’re mid-incident and not yet a client, call us anyway and we’ll either help directly or refer you to an incident response firm we trust. The first 24 hours matter; we’ll be straight with you about whether we’re the right call.
